OREANDA-NEWS  The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has recommended that Russian young men in individual and team sports be allowed to participate in international tournaments with a flag and anthem. This is reported on the organization's website.

The IOC stressed that the definition of youth competitions and the application of these recommendations depend on the regulations of each individual international sports federation. "The implementation of recommendations by interested parties will take time," the IOC said.

The organization added that all recommendations regarding the non-admission of adult Russian athletes to tournaments remain in place. They also admitted that they might be revised over time.

At the end of February 2022, most sports organizations suspended Russians from tournaments on the recommendation of the IOC. Some athletes have been given the opportunity to compete on the world stage in a neutral status, while some Russians have changed their citizenship and represent other countries.
