OREANDA-NEWS The Russian national team will not take part in the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) tournament. This was announced by the Secretary General of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Maxim Mitrofanov to RIA Novosti.

"We refused to participate in the CAFA tournament. Yesterday we sent a letter of refusal," Mitrofanov said. He noted that the decision was made because of the excessive load on the players.

The NCAA Championship with the participation of men's national teams will be held from June 9 to 21, 2023 in Kyrgyzstan. It is expected that all six members of the association will play at the tournament, namely Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.
