OREANDA-NEWS. The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) announced after a meeting of the Executive Committee on June 17 that the quarterfinals, semifinals and final of the Champions League’s season of 2019/20 will be held in Portuguese capital Lisbon in August this year. “All these ties will be single-leg fixtures,” the statement of the UEFA published on its official website specifies.

It is also reported that “the 2019/20 final was due to be held at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul which will now instead stage the 2020/21 showpiece.” It is noted that in connection with this, three subsequent finals were decided to be postponed for a year, including the finals planned for 2021 in Saint Petersburg, for 2022 in Munich, and for 2023 in London.

Matches within the quarter-finals are scheduled for August 12–15, the semi-finals will be held on August 18-–9, and the final will take place on August 23.

Most UEFA matches have been canceled or postponed due to a coronavirus pandemic. The UEFA Champions League season of 2019/20 was stopped on March 11.
