OREANDA-NEWS  A bear cub was born for the first time in the Perm Zoo to a pair of polar bears that are under the care of Rosneft. Rosneft patronizes 35 polar bears in 16 zoos in Russia, providing them with care, feeding, veterinary support, as well as updating enclosures, conducting scientific research and educational programs.

Polar bears Milka and Seriku met at the Perm Zoo 11 years ago. Over time, the predators have become almost inseparable: they eat together, swim and even sleep in the same den. In November, the couple had their first baby bear. According to experts, he is healthy, active and inquisitive. Visitors will be able to see the bear cub in March, when he gathers the courage to come out of the den with Milka. At the same time, experts will determine the sex of the small predator and choose a name for it.
