OREANDA-NEWS A super colony for three thousand prisoners will be built in Ulan-Ude. This is reported by the Number One portal with reference to Maxim Svis, head of the Buryat Federal Penitentiary Service.

According to Svis, it will be a combined type colony, including a pre-trial detention center, correctional colonies of general and strict regimes and auxiliary structures. The construction dates are set for the period from 2031 to 2035. The site has already been selected, and design and survey work is underway.

"On August 20 of this year, a government decree was issued, it is publicly available, we have entered the federal target program in this area," said the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service.

The construction of a super colony in Ulan-Ude became known in 2023. Initially, they wanted to build it at a Glass factory, but due to the protests of local residents, the construction site was moved to a forest area located two kilometers from the Power plant.

Earlier it was reported that in Vladimir colony No. 1 (IK-1), the screening of broadcasts was tightened due to the transfer of blogger Elena Blinovskaya. Later it turned out that the increased check was related to the New Year holidays.
