OREANDA-NEWS  Seismologists have recorded a magnitude 5.6 earthquake off the eastern coast of Kamchatka, according to the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Coordinates: 51.4469 north latitude, 160.1343 east longitude. Magnitude: 5.6," the scientists cited monitoring data in their Telegram channel.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located 208 kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in the Pacific Ocean, the earthquake was located at a depth of 50.4 kilometers, seismologists say.

In social networks, residents of some neighborhoods reported that they felt a seismic event.

Kamchatka experienced the strongest earthquake of magnitude 8.8 since 1952 on July 30. Since then, scientists have been recording aftershocks every day. Most of them are not felt in populated areas. The scientists' data indicate a gradual decrease in the intensity and power of repeated tremors.
