OREANDA-NEWS The grand opening of the new Taiga landscape Park took place in Khabarovsk. The ceremony was attended by German Gref, President and Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank, and Dmitry Demeshin, Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory. The project was implemented with the support of Sberbank and the Government of the Khabarovsk Territory and is dedicated to the 185th anniversary of Sberbank.

Taiga Park is located in the Industrial District of Khabarovsk next to Yerofey Arena. The central element of the park is the square with a monument to the Far Eastern writer and local historian Vsevolod Sysoev, and the main idea of the space is to immerse visitors in the world of wildlife of the Far East. Four walking routes have been created in the park, named after the inhabitants of the Far Eastern taiga: the Amur tiger, lynx, bear and scaly crumble. The routes are complemented by themed sculptures, information stands with animal footprints and audio accompaniment, which makes the walk informative for all ages.

The territory is equipped with an amphitheater, an event area for city events, modern play areas for children of different ages, a specialized playground for walking and training dogs, as well as cozy quiet recreation areas. The entire park is adapted for groups with limited mobility: ramps and non-slip surfaces are provided. The space is designed for year-round use: festivals and a skate park will be held here in spring and summer, and an ice rink will be flooded in winter.

The park is decorated with an alley of sakura trees — in spring these trees will create a unique atmosphere. Trees and shrubs of Far Eastern species are also planted in the park: pine, oak, ornamental apple tree, Daurian larch. The vegetation is selected taking into account the local climate, the total area of landscaping is more than 17 thousand square meters. Kinetic sculptures, animal figures and large stones of local origin are also installed on the territory. The park was built in record time — the construction was completed in less than six months.

"We want Taiga Park to become a favorite place for Khabarovsk residents.: People came here to walk, meet friends, and spend time with their family. Already today, we see how many children with their parents came to the park for the opening to have an exciting time and learn new things about the nature of their region. In the year of the 185th anniversary, the BEAC creates public spaces in different cities of the country and gives residents a holiday. It is important for us to create a modern urban environment to make people's lives more comfortable. Thanks to the Khabarovsk Territory government. Such joint projects help create conditions for people to want to live in the Far East, raise children here and build their future," commented German Gref.

The new Taiga Landscape Park is donated by the BEAC to the city and its residents.

One of them is on the dam of the Southern District, where on September 1 we opened the "Sports Embankment" — its name was chosen by the residents themselves, and it has become a real center of attraction for fans of an active lifestyle. And today we are taking the next step — we are opening the Taiga Park, which will organically complement this infrastructure. I have no doubt that families will come here to play sports, walk along the Amur River and just relax. This is a serious contribution to the development of sports life in our region," Dmitry Demeshin said.

The opening of the new Taiga Park is part of the BEAC's systematic work on the development of Khabarovsk, timed, among other things, to coincide with the 185th anniversary of the bank. In 2026, BEAC equipped 12 sports grounds in Khabarovsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur with outdoor simulators. On the eve of the Eastern Economic Forum, the BEAC also opened a fountain and an embankment in Omsk, as well as a park in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, which locals call the "Killer Whale."
