OREANDA-NEWS By the end of March 2026, beer exports from Kazakhstan to Russia more than tripled in monthly terms. RIA Novosti reports on a sharp increase in the supply of intoxicating drinks from the post-Soviet country, citing data from the local Customs Service.
During the reporting period, exporters from the neighboring country shipped a total of $1.4 million worth of beer to Russia. For comparison, in February the indicator was at the level of 386.4 thousand. Thus, in the first month of spring, shipments increased 3.6 times in monetary terms, or by more than a million dollars.
Other beverages were also in high demand among Russian importers. Thus, purchases of Kazakhstani sweet soda increased 1.8 times in March, to 615.1 thousand dollars, and mineral water — by 25 percent, to 302.1 thousand.
Earlier this year, Russia was actively buying beer not only from Kazakhstan. In January-April, the supply of intoxicating drinks from Estonia jumped by 72.2 percent, from Latvia — by 19.2 percent, and from Lithuania — by 13.1 percent. Belarus remained the leader in terms of exports of intoxicating drinks.
The increase in beer purchases from abroad is recorded against the background of falling production in Russia. In the first four months of this year, output dropped by 2.2 percent. The dynamics, experts noted, were influenced by a number of factors, including stricter regulation of the industry and restrictions on alcohol sales in a number of regions.
