OREANDA-NEWS  Belarus supports Iran in the development of peaceful atom and nuclear energy. President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko told the media following a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian, BelTA has learned.

"We support Iran's legitimate right to develop a peaceful atom," the president said.

Lukashenko stressed that for lasting peace, it is necessary to refrain from any actions that will lead to an escalation of the conflict. He noted that the escalation between Iran and Israel has led to the involvement of the United States in the conflict.

Earlier, the head of Belarus called on Iran to respond to challenges. He said that Minsk and Tehran will be able to successfully meet modern challenges through joint efforts.
