The increase in export prices for Russian wheat has been observed since the end of January 2025. Over the past month, the cost of a ton of these agricultural products has increased by $16. The weekly increase was $7. We are talking about free on board (FOB) supply contracts in February-March 2025, experts said.

As a result, by the end of the last month of winter, export prices for Russian wheat actually reached the level that was recorded at the end of May 2024. At that time, analysts recalled, global market participants reacted to the possible risks of crop loss in Russia "due to recurrent frosts."

According to the results of the second half of 2024, Egypt turned out to be the main buyer of Russian wheat. In July-December, this African country purchased a total of 5.45 million tons of these products from the Russian Federation (an increase of 1.8 times). Important importers of Russian wheat also include Turkey, Iran, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia. In total, in July-December, the Russian Federation exported 30 million tons of key agricultural products.
