OREANDA-NEWS  The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has initiated a number of cases in connection with overstating retail prices at gas stations in certain regions of Russia. The report was prepared following a meeting of the headquarters on the situation on the domestic market of petroleum products, headed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

The FAS representative noted that the service "will continue to monitor prices."

Earlier, the agency promised to check gas stations in Primorsky Krai for excessive gasoline prices after a complaint was received. Regional media reported a shortage of gasoline on highways and in small settlements, which is why local residents are forced to carry a supply of fuel with them in cans.
