OREANDA-NEWS  In Primorsky Krai, additional measures are being introduced to protect life support facilities. The decision on this was made today, March 16, at a meeting of the regional anti-terrorist commission chaired by Governor Oleg Kozhemyako.

According to the press service of the Primorye government, it was decided to pay special attention to the protection of transport and utility infrastructure facilities, energy enterprises and the military-industrial complex "from encroachments using unmanned aerial vehicles." According to Mr. Kozhemyako, "key facilities" need to be secured with the help of "special equipment to counter drones." "All objects of vital activity of the population should be provided with such means," the governor said. What kind of equipment is in question is not specified in the message.

On February 1, Governor Kozhemyako signed a decree banning the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the territory of the region.

"A ban has been introduced on the use of drones for domestic purposes — for personal aerial photography, filming of private events. This measure is primarily necessary to ensure the safety of citizens, the vital activity of the region, to prevent the commission of sabotage and terrorist acts using unmanned aerial vehicles," explained Oleg Ilyin, head of the Counter-terrorism Legislation Enforcement Department of the regional government.
