OREANDA-NEWS Next year, Russia will approve the preliminary national standard (PNST) for school uniforms. This was reported by "Izvestia" with reference to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.

According to the minister, the document will list the parameters of breathability and hygroscopicity of the fabric and lining, as well as the requirements for strength and durability of materials for school uniforms.

The standard will even consider criteria such as abrasion resistance, spool formation and dimensional change after washing.

New standards will allow avoiding the "spacesuit effect" when even blended fabrics cannot make the product safer due to the synthetic lining, which is poorly suited for daily use, Manturov noted.

The press service of Rosstandart confirmed that the approval of the document is planned for 2020.
