OREANDA-NEWS Japan will expand anti-Russian sanctions and add individuals and organizations suspected of helping circumvent restrictions against Moscow to the lists. This is reported by Kyodo with reference to government sources.

The new restrictions will be imposed against about 100 individuals and organizations suspected of involvement in evading sanctions against Russia, as well as 80 "military-related" organizations.

Washington has also adopted a new package of sanctions. A total of 46 individuals and 71 legal entities have been added to the list.

Earlier, Japan and the United States agreed on further anti-Russian sanctions and continued support for Ukraine. The agreement with US President Joe Biden was announced by Japanese Prime Minister.
