OREANDA-NEWS   The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, in his Telegram channel called the launch of a Tower hydroelectric power station in the Itum-Kalinsky district a big step in the sustainable development of energy in the republic.

Earlier, the largest hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 10 megawatts was put into operation in Chechnya. The tower hydroelectric power station is built on the Argun River. It will generate 52 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy per year, which is enough to provide electricity to more than 10,000 households.

"The launch of a new energy facility is a big step in the sustainable development of the region's energy sector. The project not only strengthens the region's infrastructure, but also confirms the republic's potential in the field of environmentally sound electricity generation. I am grateful to everyone who worked on the implementation of this important project," Kadyrov wrote.

He noted that the launch of hydroelectric power plants is of great importance for residents of mountainous areas, especially for those settlements where power outages were previously observed. Kadyrov clarified that thanks to the new HPP, the energy supply will become more stable and reliable, and this will directly affect the quality of life of people.
