OREANDA-NEWS  The volume of limits on preferential mortgages at 2% in new regions of Russia is planned to be increased, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin told RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the XVI International Economic Forum "Russia - the Islamic World: Kazanforum 2025".

"Now we are almost approaching the selected mortgage volumes in new territories, we will increase the limits. Yesterday I discussed this issue with the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank," he said.

In addition, Khusnullin called the cancellation by banks of commissions from developers when issuing family mortgages a "great achievement".

Earlier, both Sberbank and VTB announced that they had abolished preferential mortgage fees, which developers had to include in the cost per square meter.

"We also managed to launch a family mortgage in the secondary market. Of course, it is not so widespread, but in cities where housing is not being built, we have introduced an additional tool to support housing demand," he added.
As the deputy chairman of the government emphasized, the volume of family mortgage issuance is increasing every month, "despite the fact that money is tight right now."
