OREANDA-NEWS  North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un plans to travel to Russia in September for talks on military cooperation between the countries, The New York Times (NYT) reports, citing unnamed American officials.

According to the newspaper's interlocutors, Kim Jong-un expects to discuss military cooperation with the Russian leadership during the visit.

NYT writes that Kim Jong-un may take part in the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF), which will be held on September 10-13. According to the newspaper, the leader of the DPRK is likely to travel from Pyongyang to Vladivostok on an armored train. At the same time, according to officials, it is possible that Kim Jong-un may pay a visit to Moscow.

At the end of July, Kim Jong-un held talks in Pyongyang with a Russian delegation led by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. North Korean media wrote that "the parties seriously discussed some issues of further development of strategic and tactical cooperation and cooperation between the two countries in the field of national defense and security"
