OREANDA-NEWS  Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke about the US reaction to his sweater with the inscription "USSR", in which he appeared at the summit in Alaska. The corresponding comment appeared in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

According to Lavrov, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio positively assessed the mentioned wardrobe item. "Without any tantrums, they just said that they liked this shirt, as Marco Rubio put it," the Russian Foreign Minister said.

At the same time, he stressed that a sensation had happened from his outfit, in which there was really nothing unusual.

We have a lot of products that reproduce Soviet symbols, and I don't see anything wrong with that. This is a part of our life, a part of our history, this is our Homeland, which has now taken the form of the Russian Federation and is surrounded by former Soviet republics and friendly countries.

Earlier in August, Putin called Lavrov an imperialist because of his outfit in Alaska. At the beginning of the summit, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio admired Lavrov's appearance.
