OREANDA-NEWS  French President Emmanuel Macron was interested in the position and advice of Russian leader Vladimir Putin on the Iranian nuclear program, and was optimistic about his position, French Cabinet spokeswoman Sophie Prima said.

"The president spoke about his conversation with Vladimir Putin. It was quite a significant event, as they had not spoken for a long time and then talked for two hours, especially on the issue of Iran and the NPT (Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons - ed.)," said Prima at a briefing on Wednesday. The broadcast was hosted by the Elysee Palace in X.

She recalled that Russia is among the signatories of the treaty.
