OREANDA-NEWS  The Bank of Russia postponed the date of the mass introduction of the digital ruble to September 2027, but not because of technological issues, but because it takes time to understand which services will be in demand, said the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina.

"We have indeed postponed the dates of the so-called mass implementation to September 2027, but not because of technological issues. Technologically, everything is more or less clear. Together with market participants, we want to understand which services will be most in demand in the economy, and it is from this point of view that we are extending the pilot," Nabiullina said at the congress of financiers in Kazakhstan.
