PlayStation 5 has gone up in price in Europe

The prices for the current PlayStation console have increased in Europe and some Asian markets, including the United Kingdom. In Europe, the price of the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition increased by 50 euros, to 500 euros. In the United Kingdom, prices rose by 40 pounds, to 430 pounds. However, the cost of the PS5 console with a disk drive remained unchanged.
In Australia and New Zealand, prices for all versions of the console increased - by up to 150 Australian dollars and 210 New Zealand dollars respectively. Sony also noted that the price of the PlayStation 5 Pro remains unchanged.
The report also states that the company has decided to adjust prices for a detachable drive for the PS5 and PS5 Pro, which will lead to a reduction in prices in several markets. In Europe, the price of the accessory will be 80 Euros, in the United Kingdom - 70 Pounds, in Australia - 125 Australian Dollars, and in New Zealand - 140 New Zealand Dollars.
Sony's Vice President of Global Marketing, Isabelle Tomatis, explained that prices for consoles needed to be adjusted due to difficult economic conditions, including high inflation and exchange rate fluctuations. According to her, the corporation made a difficult decision.
In late February, the European Union imposed a ban on exporting video game consoles to Russia, citing the use of set-top box controllers for controlling unmanned aircraft.
