OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus and Russia will find compromise solutions in the energy sector, these issues shouldn't be politicized. This was stated by Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko on Sunday on the air of the Belarusian television channel.

“It's not necessary to exaggerate the scale of these disagreements, scale them, and most importantly, to politicize”, the speaker noted. According to Matvienko, relations between Russia and Belarus are of a strategic nature. "We are building the Union State. Our cooperation is so multifaceted, if we only talk about our trade and economic turnover, it's more than $ 35 billion", she said.

Also, Matvienko emphasized, Russian-Belarusian cooperation "has already sprouted roots in human ties, and in education, and in health care, in very different fields", Matvienko said. Deliveries of Russian oil to Belarusian refineries were stopped on January 1, as Moscow and Minsk didn't conclude an agreement on the terms of supplies for this year.
