OREANDA-NEWS In 2025, the total damage from the spring floods in Russia will amount to five billion rubles. This forecast was given by experts of the Russian National Reinsurance Company (RNPC), RIA Novosti reports.

For the assessment, experts used data from the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology on the expected nature of spring flooding on the rivers of the Russian Federation and the possible influx of water into large reservoirs in the second quarter of the year. The calculation was prepared using a special earthquake and flood modeling system. The analysis took into account the possible excess of the long-term norm of water in rivers during the spring flood.

According to the forecast, the Omsk region may receive the greatest damage — financial losses will amount to one billion rubles, 1.3 thousand objects will suffer. The Tyumen Region (900 million, two thousand objects) and the Republic of Sakha (900 million, 1.7 thousand objects) will be in second place, and the Altai Territory (560 million, three thousand objects) will be in third place.

The Chelyabinsk Region (500 million rubles), Bashkiria (340 million), Samara Region (220 million), Khabarovsk Territory (180 million), Irkutsk Region (130 million) and Sakhalin (110 million) may also be seriously affected. The least damage is possible in the Perm Region (70 million rubles, 500 objects).

Earlier, 29 residential buildings and 192 suburban areas were flooded in the Irkutsk region due to flooding.
