OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin asked why Belarus had run out of potatoes. His words are reported by RIA Novosti.
He said that Russia can buy potatoes from Belarus, "but it's also nice to have your own." Maxim Oreshkin, deputy head of the presidential administration, answered him, saying that this product had run out in Belarus.
"How did it end?.. Maxim says that potatoes in Belarus are over. What is this?", — said Putin.
Earlier, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) increased the tariff exemption for potato imports to Russia by 150,000 tons. Such a privilege will allow the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to export this type of product to the Russian Federation without having to pay customs duties.
