OREANDA-NEWS  The restrictive measures in foreign trade introduced by the presidential decree of March 8, 2022 "in order to ensure the security of the Russian Federation and the smooth functioning of industry" have been extended for two years at once - until December 31, 2025.

The corresponding amendment was made by Vladimir Putin's decree of July 20. The text of the document is published on the official portal of legal acts.

In the original version of the document, the validity period of special measures was limited to December 31, 2023.

The paragraphs of last year's decree, which have been extended, provide for a ban or restriction on the export of products and raw materials outside the Russian Federation and/or import into its territory according to the lists determined by the government, as well as the establishment of increased rates of export/import duties.

As part of the powers granted by this decree, the government banned the export to unfriendly countries, in particular, unprocessed timber, waste and scrap tungsten, alloy steel, corrosion-resistant steel with a nickel content of 8%, a whole list of dual-use goods. The export of certain types of technological, telecommunication, medical equipment, turbines, machine tools, vehicles (including railway wagons, locomotives, containers), agricultural machinery, electrical equipment, etc. is also prohibited or restricted.
