OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone conversations with Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This is reported on the Kremlin's website.

The Kremlin clarified that the talks took place in connection with the "dangerous escalation of the situation as a result of Israel's military action against Iran." The Head of State stressed that Moscow condemns Tel Aviv's actions, which violate the UN Charter and international law.

Putin called on the countries to negotiate, saying that Russia is ready to become a mediator.

"The Russian side will continue close contacts with the leadership of both Iran and Israel aimed at resolving the current situation, which is fraught with the most harmful consequences for the entire region," the statement said.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that Israeli strikes on Iran would have a positive impact on world markets.
