OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev to discuss trade and economic partnership between the two countries. The official website of the Uzbek leader writes about this.

"Topical issues of further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Russian relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance were discussed. Special attention was paid to the practical implementation of agreements at the highest level, primarily in the trade and economic sphere," the statement says.

Additionally, it is specified that Russia and Uzbekistan have set the task to increase mutual trade turnover.

On June 27, Putin held a meeting with Mirziyoyev in Minsk. The conversation between the two heads of state took place at the summit of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
