OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed at a meeting of the Security Council to keep under control the issues of protecting traditional spiritual and moral values and the historical memory of Russian society, Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu told Rossiya 24 TV channel.
"This is an incredibly important issue for our country and it is difficult to overestimate it," he said.
"Concluding today's meeting of the Security Council, the President of the country said again and again: I ask you - every point must be under control and each point has its own very important importance and weight," Shoigu said.
The Secretary of the Security Council noted that as part of the work to protect historical memory and traditional spiritual and moral values, authorities and public organizations held almost 748,000 events, they reached an audience of more than 400 million people.
According to Shoigu, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova made the main report at the Security Council meeting.
"Of course, we have paid attention to our compatriots abroad," Shoigu said, noting that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin had made reports on this issue at the Security Council meeting.
"Of course, we have paid attention to the statistics provided in various reports. They are also important, and they have grown in a positive way in many areas. Previously, 30 percent were interested and worried about the relations between peoples, the friendship of peoples and the unity of our country, but today all these indicators are in the range of 78-80 percent and above. This is important, this is the result of the work," Shoigu said.
