Putin may visit Iran in 2026

OREANDA-NEWS There are no plans for Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Iran in the next few months, and it may take place in the summer of 2026, when Iran will host the Caspian Summit, said Kazem Jalali, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic to Moscow.
"Currently, there are no plans for Mr. Putin's visit to Iran in the next few months... There was a proposal to hold the 2026 Caspian Summit in Iran... If this summit is approved (by the participating countries), Mr. Putin's trip (to Iran) will take place in the month of Mordad (July-August) next year," Jalali told the SNN news agency.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow considers positive the Iranian proposal to hold the VII Caspian Summit in Tehran on August 12, 2026.
