OREANDA-NEWS  Sergei Sobyanin is doing a good job as mayor of Moscow. This opinion was expressed by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a direct line combined with the final press conference. The program is broadcast by Lenta.<url>" in "VKontakte".

Putin appreciated the work of the current mayor of the capital, commenting on the congestion on the capital's roads. "We are all rightfully proud of Moscow. Sergei Sobyanin is doing a lot," the head of state said. He noted that given the size of Moscow's population — 12 million people living and three million working in the metropolis — Sobyanin manages to effectively solve the problem of congestion on the capital's roads. Putin praised the city administration for optimizing public transport, opening new metro stations, and successfully building road junctions and overpasses. "Sobyanin's team is generally able to solve this problem," Putin admitted.

The President added that even in his post he continues to face the problem of traffic congestion in Moscow. According to Putin, sometimes he has to travel without a motorcade and flashing lights, and at these moments he sees how strong the traffic flow is in the city center. Despite the efforts made by the Moscow City Hall, Putin advised not to rest on our laurels and continue to deal with traffic jams.

In December, unprecedented traffic jams were recorded in Moscow this year. Traffic congestion has reached ten points. Traffic was hampered by the first snowfall, when a quarter of the monthly precipitation fell in less than a day.
