OREANDA-NEWS  The economic situation in Russia is better than in many other countries of the world, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on December 9.

The economic downturn in many countries of the world is higher than in Russia.  Putin noted that economic indicators in Russia are good, but could have been better. There is an economic downturn in Russia, but the situation is better than in many other countries, President Vladimir Putin said.

"When we were predicted a 20% economic downturn in Russia, there is a downturn, but 2.9% is, of course, a big difference. And we understand that those who predicted such a development of events to us were greatly mistaken. And we were just right. And it is probably impossible to say that we are doing very well, because there is a recession, but the situation is really better than in many other countries in a number of components," Putin said at a press conference following his visit to Kyrgyzstan.

"According to the same inflation, we will have 12 with a little, 12.2, 12.3 per year, and in European countries 17, 20, over 20. That is, absolutely exorbitant values for the European economy. These are quite obvious things. Nobody came up with this," Putin said at a press conference following his visit to Kyrgyzstan.
