Putin signed a document on the rights of foreign investors

OREANDA-NEWS President Vladimir Putin signed a decree "On additional guarantees of the rights of foreign investors."
The document is published on the official Internet portal of legal information. He clarifies the conditions under which foreigners can invest in Russia without taking into account the counter-sanctions decrees of 2022 and 2023.
The guarantees apply to: the purchase or sale by a trader acting in the interests of a foreign investor of Russian securities on the stock exchange or during their initial public offering; fulfillment of obligations under acquired securities; the use of derivatives by a foreign investor; their placement of deposits in Russian banks.
The decree also introduces "In" type accounts. Cash, stocks, bonds, and units will be accounted for there. Foreign investors will be able to transfer funds from foreign banks to these accounts. Investments from other accounts are prohibited, as are withdrawals from In-type accounts.
