OREANDA-NEWS  Roskomnadzor (RCN) plans to create a scanning system that will identify information security vulnerabilities of Russian resources. This was reported on Friday in the Telegram channel of the department.

Roskomnadzor held a Scientific and Technical Council (NTS) on the basis of the Main Radio Frequency Center, at which experts discussed ensuring the information security of Russian systems and resources.

"Roskomnadzor on the basis of the CMU (Center for Monitoring and Management of the Public Communications Network - approx. TASS) is creating a domestic trusted scanning system this year, which will allow identifying information security vulnerabilities of Russian information resources, providing an opportunity for their prompt elimination," the message published following the results of the NTS says.

The department said that information security vulnerabilities are often present in Russian information systems, including websites, database systems, mail servers. Their exploitation leads to compromise of systems and leaks of personal data. At the same time, there are more than 10 services operating in the foreign segment of the Internet that constantly scan and identify vulnerabilities, including in Runet. Such information is used by attackers for computer attacks on the Russian infrastructure.

"In order to protect Russian systems and resources, it is simultaneously planned to take measures to limit scanning by foreign services of the Russian segment of the Internet," Roskomnadzor added.
