Russia and Mongolia discussed cooperation in the energy sector, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment reported.

OREANDA-NEWS Russia is ready to participate in the development of Mongolia's energy sector, in particular in the field of nuclear and hydroelectric power generation, as well as in the reconstruction of CHP-3, said Alexander Kozlov, head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, co-chairman of the intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries.
"Our colleagues (Mongolia – ed.) are trying to create a modern energy industry that meets the challenges. We are ready to participate in it. These are projects related to the reconstruction of CHPP-3, participation in our company Rosatom, and issues related to the construction of hydroelectric power plants," he said in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel.
According to Kozlov, cooperation in the energy sector is an important area, as Mongolia is a major consumer of energy produced by the Russian Federation.

According to Kozlov, cooperation in the energy sector is an important area, as Mongolia is a major consumer of energy produced by the Russian Federation.
