OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian military has switched to a systematic operation in Ukraine, during which strikes are carried out in waves, rather than targeted. The beginning of the use of new tactics was announced by military expert Vasily Dandykin in an interview with МК.RU .

"The Russian army has moved from targeted, episodic strikes to a systematic operation, which has already been dubbed an "air lockdown." Previously, we hit specific targets, giving the enemy time to recover and restore cover. Now the scheme is different: the strikes are carried out in waves, combined — drones, ballistic, cruise missiles," Dandykin said.

According to the analyst, such a strategy does not allow the Ukrainian air defense systems to "rest", as a result of which the weapons are forced to work hard.

For the fifth day in a row, the Russian army has been continuously hitting important targets for Ukraine with drones. On the night of August 31, strikes hit the Kiev, Odessa, Volyn, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions of the country.
