OREANDA-NEWS The gross grape harvest in Russia last year amounted to 908 thousand tons, and this is the highest figure, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

"The gross harvest of grapes in farms of all categories amounted to 908 thousand tons, which is the highest figure in modern Russia (in 2023 - 882 thousand tons). The total area of grape plantations has reached 110.2 thousand hectares, including 86.4 thousand hectares of vineyards are currently in their fruiting age," the report says.

They noted that agricultural producers, with the exception of personal subsidiary farms, laid 7.43 thousand hectares of new vineyards in 2024. The most popular varieties for the bookmark are "cabernet Sauvignon", "chardonnay", "pinot noir".

The largest increase in vineyard areas was recorded in the Republic of Crimea (+2.0 thousand hectares) and the Krasnodar Territory (+1.9 thousand hectares).
