Russia has created a new rocket for drones and ships

OREANDA-NEWS The Tactical Missile Armament Corporation (KTRV) has created an interspecific multi-purpose short-range missile X-MD-E, which can be used from surface ships and drones. This is stated in the article of the magazine "National Defense" dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the general director of KTRV Boris Obnosov, RIA Novosti reports.
When working on new products, KTRV designers fully take into account the requirements of the time. "So, for UAVs that have recently received a powerful impetus for development, an interspecific multipurpose homing missile X-MD-E has been created, which can be used from drones and surface ships," the material says.
The rocket received three versions, which differ in homing heads: with a semi-active laser at X-M-E1, an active radar at X-MD-E2 and a passive radar at X-MD-E3.
