OREANDA-NEWS  Russia plans to take part in consultations scheduled for next week by Chairman of the General Council of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Saqer Abdullah Almokbel on the consequences of imposing duties on the multilateral trading system, Russian Permanent Representative to the WTO Nikolai Platonov told RIA Novosti.

Earlier on Tuesday, a WTO official told reporters that the chairman of the General Council of the World Trade Organization would hold consultations with the organization's members next week on how duties affect the multilateral trading system.

"We are planning to," he replied when asked if the Russian Federation plans to participate in these consultations.
