OREANDA-NEWS   Rosoboronexport will supply India with ammunition for the Shtil-1 naval anti-aircraft missile systems. This is reported by the United News Of India (UNI).

According to the newspaper, the contract worth 2,182 crore rupees (about $ 238 million) involves the supply of missiles for the frigate air defense systems of the Russian project 11356. India may receive 9M317ME anti-aircraft guided missiles.

The Indian frigates of Project 11356 are equipped with a medium-range vertical launch anti-aircraft system. The Shtil-1 consists of combat modules, a fire control system and a ship's radar. One module holds 12 rockets. The SAM is designed for all-round defense of the ship from various means of air attack.
