OREANDA-NEWS   Last year, Russian companies purchased 693,000 machine tools for production, while foreign equipment accounted for 98.3 percent of purchases, which indicates a complete dependence in this industry. The worst situation is among electronics manufacturers, whose assembly lines are equipped with imported equipment by almost 100 percent. Cases of using Russian machines for the production of printed circuit boards are rare, confirms Alexey Boyko, an independent analyst and author of the RUSmicro Telegram channel.

A source in one of the engineering companies confirmed the ATK+ data, adding that China accounts for 71 percent of imported machines in 2024. At the same time, the supply of German machine tools almost stopped, Japanese ones fell tenfold, and South Korean ones initially soared in 2022, but fell again in 2023 amid the tightening of the sanctions regime.

In addition to Chinese products, machine tool manufacturers from India have taken their place. In addition, it is possible to carry out deliveries from other countries through Turkey, whose enterprises often act as collectors for Russian customers.
