OREANDA-NEWS  On the eve of the Knowledge Day, the Sberbank opened the acceptance of applications for participation in the accelerator of technological startups for students, postgraduates and researchers of universities. The accelerator is aimed at both the development of ready-made technological projects and the creation of projects from scratch.

Graduates of the previous three waves created 1,500 startup projects and attracted more than 420 million rubles of investment. Participation in the program is free, you must register before November 1, 2023 on the website.

"In 2023, Sberbank became a partner of the federal project " Platform of University Technological Entrepreneurship " of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. As part of this project, private investors can receive cashback up to 50 percent of the amount invested in university startups. 3.2 billion rubles will be allocated for the implementation of the investment recovery program. I am sure that by combining state support measures and the capabilities of large companies that are ready to share their experience, technologies and become a guide to the world of business for the guys, it will be possible to create a new generation of brilliant entrepreneurs. They will strengthen the scientific and technical potential and in 10-15 years will shape the country's economy," said Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Sberbank Management Board.

Acceleration is carried out in two stages for six months. At the first stage, participants get access to an online program from the BEAC on Technological Entrepreneurship. If desired, accelerator students will be able to choose one of four tracks with an industry bias: artificial intelligence, technologies for the metaverse, Web 3.0 concepts, technologies in medicine. At the end of this stage, the participants will form a startup concept and assemble a team to work on it.

At the second stage, teams work with personal mentors from among experienced entrepreneurs to turn the concept into a working product and achieve the first business results.

The best teams will present their startups to the management of Sberbank and other corporations, business angels and rectors of Russian universities at the demo day. Winners and prize-winners can apply for grants from the accelerator partner Moscow Seed Fund, a grant from the President of Russia for undergraduates, as well as for business support of the project after the completion of the program.
