OREANDA-NEWS   Argentine Economy Minister and presidential candidate Sergio Massa said that the authorities decided to block the entry of a vessel with liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia. The politician explained the refusal in an interview with C5N.

"We have decided, in view of the international sanctions that apply to individual companies, to block the entry of a vessel with LNG originating from Russia," the minister stressed.

According to him, the decision is also connected with "respect for the international framework."

Earlier, analyst Igor Yushkov said that the tightening of energy sanctions against Russia may affect the gas sector more than the oil sector. According to him, Russia is the second largest supplier of LNG to Europe after the United States. The expert also noted that "to try to block such large volumes is to push up gas prices in Europe."

In May, it was reported that all EU countries agreed to tighten energy restrictions against Russia. Even those states that "benefited from undeclared imports of Russian oil" did not speak out against this decision.
