The CEC of the Russian Federation prevented a cyberattack on the online voting system

OREANDA-NEWS The Central Election Commission of Russia has prevented an attempt to discredit the GAS "Vybory" and remote electronic voting systems, said the chairman of the commission, Ella Pamfilova.
"Yesterday we prevented an attempt to discredit our GAS "Vybory", to discredit remote electronic voting. We understand that such a large-scale aggression, cyber aggression, was conceived with the aim of compromising all this in the public space, [it] failed," Pamfilova said, speaking on Thursday with a report on the readiness of the electoral system for the elections.
The elections of deputies of the State Duma and the elections combined with them will be held within three days - from September 18 to 20. On a single voting day, it is planned to conduct more than 2.2 thousand election campaigns at various levels and replace 20.7 thousand deputy mandates and elected positions.
On September 18-20, elections of senior officials of 11 regions of the Russian Federation will be held (in eight subjects - direct elections, in three more - voting through legislative bodies).
In addition, elections of deputies of legislative bodies of 39 regions of the Russian Federation, as well as elections of deputies of representative bodies of municipalities of administrative centers (capitals) of 10 subjects of the country will be held.
