OREANDA-NEWS  In Yakutia, the flood came to the "pole of cold" — the village of Oymyakon. He was cut off from civilization, reports "Rise".

In addition to the coldest point of the country, several neighboring settlements were also flooded. The Indigirka River, which overflowed its banks, flooded shops, bridges and roads were damaged, as well as houses, which some residents had to leave. In total, according to the latest data from the authorities, 73 residential buildings were affected by the flood. An emergency situation regime has been introduced in the area.

Alexander Okoneshnikov, the head of the Oymyakonsky ulus, said that some of the residents had evacuated to temporary accommodation, while others had settled with relatives. Currently, the water is decreasing from the village of Sordonnokh and is slowly declining in Oymyakon. "The municipal road is cut off, these are the villages of Oymyakon and Sordonnokh. So far, there is enough food for seven days," he said, adding that a rescue flight had arrived in the village of Oymyakon.
