OREANDA-NEWS  Alla Polovchenya, Deputy Head of the Department of Unmanned Systems and Robotics at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, was detained by law enforcement authorities the day before, the ministry's press service told Interfax on Thursday.

"Yesterday, law enforcement agencies detained Alla Polovchenya, deputy head of the Department of Unmanned Systems and Robotics at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia," said a representative of the department.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade is assisting investigative actions, the ministry noted. The reasons for the detention were not disclosed.

The Department of Unmanned Systems and Robotics was established in the structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in early 2024 to implement the tasks of the national project "Unmanned Aircraft Systems", coordinate the implementation of civil and defense government orders for the production of UAVs, as well as ensure the development and support of the robotics industry (with the exception of industrial robots).
