OREANDA-NEWS Ensuring the smooth implementation of a possible future agreement on the Iranian atom is a difficult task, given the experience of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Oleg Postnikov, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department for Non-Proliferation and Arms Control, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to him, Moscow is confident that if there is sufficient political will on the part of all parties involved, a settlement over the Iranian nuclear program is an achievable goal.

"Progress in this regard could only be welcomed. However, as the experience of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (on the Iranian Nuclear Program - ed.) has shown, it is important not only to conclude an agreement, but also to ensure its smooth implementation, taking into account the built and balanced balance of interests. This task is no less difficult," Postnikov explained.
