OREANDA-NEWS The Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow sentenced Yuri Shulgin, the former head of Mezhregionsoyuzenergo, to 22 years in a penal colony in the case of fraud and the organization of a criminal community, the court's press service told RIA Novosti.
"By the verdict of the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow, Yuri Vladimirovich Shulgin was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 3 of Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation; part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and two crimes under paragraphs "a" and "b" of part 4 of Article 174.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and finally sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 22 years old, serving his sentence in a high-security penal colony, with a fine," the press service said.
As the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, reported in March 2021, the police detained eleven suspects in the case of embezzlement of more than ten billion rubles from electricity producers and grid companies belonging to the ROSSETI state corporation. They are accused of fraud on a particularly large scale and participation in a criminal community using their official position.
