OREANDA-NEWS In Moscow, a court sentenced Anastasia Burakova, the founder of the Ark project (listed in the register of foreign agents in the Russian Federation), to 7.5 years in prison in absentia for spreading fakes about the Russian Armed Forces.

She was found guilty under Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public dissemination, under the guise of reliable reports, of deliberately false information containing data on the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, motivated by political hatred"). The defendant is on the international wanted list. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for her in absentia.

It follows from the materials of the criminal case that in 2023, Burakova, outside of Russia, published in her messenger channel a video of a speech with false information about the Russian army during a special military operation.

In December 2023, the Russian Ministry of Justice added lawyer Anastasia Burakova and the Ark project, which she founded, to the register of foreign agents.
