The General Staff announced the capture of Seversk by the forces of the "Southern" group

OREANDA-NEWS Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, said that the "Southern" group of troops had taken control of the city of Seversk in the DPR.
"The city of Seversk has been liberated," Gerasimov said during a report to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"The assault units of the Southern Group of Forces are advancing with battles in the city of Konstantinovka. 45% of the buildings in this settlement are under our control," he said.
Also, the commander of the Southern Group of Troops, Sergei Medvedev, said that taking control of Seversk in the DPR created conditions for the further development of the offensive in the direction of Slavyansk.
"Formations and military units of the Third Army, leading the offensive in the Seversk direction, completed the liberation of the city of Seversk, thereby creating conditions for the further development of the offensive in the direction of the settlement of Slavyansk," Medvedev reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
