OREANDA-NEWS  In a conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump raised the issue of an early cessation of hostilities in Ukraine. This was stated by Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, TASS reports.

"Naturally, the Ukrainian issue was discussed. Donald Trump has once again raised the issue of an early cessation of hostilities [in Ukraine]," he said.

The phone conversation between Putin and Trump took place on July 3 and lasted about an hour. During the conversation, the Russian leader said that Moscow expects to put an end to the Ukrainian conflict through negotiations.
